DISCOVERIES DAILY / ACCESS FOR EVERYONE
Accessibility.
Statement updated October 20, 2026
We want Discoveries Daily to be usable by people with different abilities, devices and ways of reading. Our accessibility target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Using the site
The site includes a skip link, page headings and landmarks, labeled search and sorting controls, keyboard-operable buttons, visible keyboard focus and native article and Premium dialogs. Press Escape to close a dialog. Saved status and search results use polite announcements. An explicit “Explore more discoveries” button provides an alternative to loading stories by scrolling.
Layouts adapt to smaller screens, text can be enlarged using browser zoom, and reduced-motion preferences reduce animation and scrolling effects. Article images have alternative text and visible source credits. The privacy page offers clearly labeled export and deletion controls, with confirmation before deleting browser saves.
You can read the original report using the link in each article dialog. It opens a new tab. Linked publishers' pages are independent sites and may have different accessibility features.
Assessment and known limitations
This is a development-stage self-assessment, not a certification of WCAG conformance. The October 19 update includes automated checks of policy navigation, headings, labels and submission rejection, plus browser checks of keyboard controls, dialogs, privacy controls, mobile layout and narrow-screen reflow.
A comprehensive screen-reader evaluation, an independent accessibility audit and testing across a wider range of assistive technologies are still needed. Source-provided image descriptions and scientific terminology may not explain every visual or specialist concept fully. External images can fail to load; the story and original-source link remain available.
An email contact for accessibility feedback is listed below for beta testing. We will review reported barriers and update this statement as features or findings change. We do not promise an untested response deadline.
Report an accessibility barrier
Accessibility contact: yourjunkmailsucks@gmail.com.
Email the address above; the link opens your email app. There is no inquiry form on this preview. See the contact page for reporting guidance. Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, the problem, your browser or assistive technology if relevant, and the format that would help. You do not need to share a diagnosis or sensitive medical information.
If a particular article is difficult to access, include its source link so an accessible alternative can be considered. This statement does not limit rights or complaint routes available under applicable law.
